Frequently Asked Questions
Under the law, health care providers need to give clients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.
You can ask your health care provider for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service, or at any time during treatment.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, or how to dispute a bill, see your Estimate, or visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises
Blackbird Therapy provides a professional mental health therapy service. Cancellations can disrupt both you and other clients. Blackbird Therapy’s cancellation policy is as follows: If you cancel your first consultation twice, we will not be able to reschedule for the third time. I require a 48 hour notice if you intend to cancel or move your scheduled appointment to another day to avoid being charged for the full session fee.
Blackbird Therapy provides mental health therapy to adolescents, adults, couples, and families.

If you have an insurance plan that I do not accept, I can provide you with a superbill for out of network benefits. You will submit this on your behalf to your insurance provider for potential reimbursement. Please contact your insurance provider in advance to verify compensation.
Payments are accepted in the form of cash or credit card and are processed before each session.
